Summer Mission Trips Kick Off This Weekend!

Summer is here, which means at Adventures we are gearing up for a full three months of short-term mission trips for adults, families, and youth groups. The first trips launch this weekend, serving everywhere from Washington DC and Atlanta to Cambodia and Swaziland until the end of August. It’s sure to be an eventful summer and we’re excited to see all the Lord is going to do through the families, youth groups, and individuals stepping out of their comfort zone to follow God and love his people around the world. Kingdom Journeys: Now Available for Women!

It’s been eight months since Meghan Tschanz of July 2012’s H Squad met Anala. That fiery little girl in the back room of a Mumbai brothel changed her life, and Megan hasn’t forgotten about her. Meghan remembers the story this way. Anala was born in a red light district in India. No one really knows her mother’s story but it probably goes something like this: her mother was kidnapped from Nepal around the age of 13 and sold into prostitution for around $70. After that her mother stood at the edge of a run-down alley all day, wearing thick lipstick, heavy eyeliner, and...

When Love is Enough: A Revelation for God’s Children

It's easy to lose sight of what we, as a community of believers, do for the Kingdom. Whether it's volunteering locally or taking the leap to serve overseas, sometimes the moment seems underestimated and even insignificant. All followers of Christ are commanded to go into the world and share the gospel with people who don’t know him.  Going looks different for everyone, but we’re all supposed to do it. Going can mean moving to the...

Short Term Missions: Serving the Least of These in Appalachia

Appalachia.  Most of us see the word and wonder how to read it aloud (we hear it’s pronounced “Apple-latch-ah”). Some of us may have hiked the Appalachian Trail. But we’d be hard pressed to point out this region on a map. And perhaps if we were honest, we don’t know why Appalachia is considered a mission field. First, where is Appalachia? According to the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC), The Appalachian Region… is a 205,000-square-mile region that follows the spine of the Appalachian Mountains from southern New York to northern Mississippi....
