Alabama Relief: Transformation After Tornado

Not long after tornadoes tore through Alabama, we were able to go and assess the needs and how Adventures could help. We’ve been sending teams in to help with recovery and rebuilding efforts. Tonya Norman, one of the first of our staff to be on the ground, offers these reflections: When the first responders move out and the dust settles a bit, that’s usually about the time that most of the public begins focusing on other headlines. Until I came here to Alabama, I had no idea the level of devastation that this area had faced. When you round that last curve in the hills of Northeastern...

Real Men Go to Matamoros for Missions

A Summer of Firsts in Missions

Sixteen year old Erika Disney went to Tennessee with AIM and is her very first missions trip.  In a short period of time, young Erika has grown tremendously.  This week of roughing it in Appalachia mountains, where the showers are cold and the air is hot, prayer walking, house painting and worshiping the Lord, has transformed her. Missionaries’ First Response to Earthquake in Haiti

Miguel and Kristina de Santiago are our resident missionaries in the Dominican Republic and have been closely following the results of the recent earthquake in Haiti. They live not far from the Haitian border and have begun to respond to the needs of their neighbors. They have spent the last 24 hours gathering supplies, food, and resources in order to bring adequate relief across the border.   Last night, Miguel and his disciple Ronnie gathered supplies and left San Juan. Just before leaving, Miguel wrote, “May God meet these people in their brokenness, healing wounded hearts, giving...
