God Didn’t Call Me to Go On a Mission Trip; He Called Me to a Mission-Filled Life

Passporter Holly Martin went on a 3 month mission trip to South Africa with every intention of serving God with everything she is. But then she realized that God didn’t call her to a mission trip; He’s called her to a life of missions—anywhere and everywhere she goes, whether that is in the States or on the other side of the world.  Over the last couple of days it has become so obvious to me that God has called me to way higher places then just being on a short term mission trip for three months. Most of all, He has shown me how He wants me to live not just here...

I’m Not Satisfied with Apathetic Christianity Anymore

Karson Wilkins just returned from a Passport trip to Albania, where she spent two months living life to the fullest while serving God with all of her heart. Now she’s back and life isn’t the same anymore—because she isn’t the same either. Now she faces a decision: does she go back to mediocre religion…or does she continue to pursue intimacy with God? “How are you?” seems to be the number one question asked ever since I came home from my time in Albania. I usually answer with the proper phrase that Albanians who spoke English were taught to say: “I’m...

You’ll Never Guess What Happened to this Passport Team in Mongolia

While on a Passport trip to Mongolia, Morgan Blair and her team spent a day without a plan for ministry. Instead, they made it a treasure hunt, by asking God to show them attributes and pictures of people to meet. But when they headed out on the streets of Ulaanbaatar, they found so much more than they expected. I have never been so excited for something I don’t understand, was the only thought swimming through my mind as my team ran into an overly enthusiastic Mongolian couple yesterday. They spoke no English and yet were overjoyed to see a bunch of Americans on their...

I Wanted to Hide My Secrets from God, But He Wanted to Set Me Free

While at Training Camp before going to India and Nepal, Passporter Emma Cary experienced more than just ministry preparation. She had a life-changing encounter with God that healed her heart and set her free to share His love with the nations. I took my first cold bucket shower on June 3, 2016. It was actually quite nice, except I felt clean for about two seconds. Naturally. Georgia is hot, and tents are not air conditioned. And neither are port-a-potties. Things are sweaty and messy, to say the least. As I walked into the Adventures headquarters that first Friday, my soul carried weights...

They Sleep on the Streets of Jamaica

When Passporter Katie Hassler set out to pass out food and drinks to the homeless of Jamaica, she had no idea just how much this ministry would impact her. Every week, my Passport team does street ministry in Mandeville, Jamaica. We go into town, buy food and drinks, and walk around, passing out these items to the homeless around town. I’ll never forget our first week of street ministry. It was a beautiful day and the sun was hot on our backs. Cars drove past us blasting reggae music as we walked to the grocery store. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a dirty sheet in the road. But then...

She Believed God Could Heal, But Still Did Not Expect This

While shopping one day with a ministry contact, World Race Alum and Thailand Passport Leader Ash Owens prayed for a stranger over the phone. Ash believed God could do the impossible, but still didn’t expect this. A few weeks ago, a woman named Jo came to our host ministry in Bangkok, Samaritan’s Creations. She is a mighty woman with a contagious laugh, and full of the love of Christ. We bonded right away. Together, we went on an adventure to a market, looking for material. Between wandering the stalls, picking out the perfect fabric, and sharing our stories, our afternoon together...
