Passport Immersion Training Camp in a Nutshell

This past week in North Georgia, our new September 2013 Passport Immersion squad trained for their nine-month adventure around the world. We thought the best way to tell you about their training camp was to do it in their own words and photos. Photos via samccomb, dyannarenee, mandymay13, lipstickgospel, thopp37, and Katie Rowland What's one thing about Training Camp you didn't expect?   + "The amazing teachings and staff!" Mission Trips for College Students: Choose Your Destination

Have you ever thought God could be calling you to something different next year? Maybe a gap-year program, or a semester abroad? How about something even better? Can a College Mission Trip Change Your Life?

Gloriel Taylor and her Passport team spent last fall semester in Thailand, serving with a local ministry and ministering to the girls enslaved in prostitution on Bangla Road. She knew she would change lives but the life that changed most was hers.   Others who have been around the block will tell you, "You're going to be the one who gets impacted. You're going to be the one who changes." Looking back, I never expected this much change.   Before I came on this trip I NEVER prayed out loud unless I had to, not even in a small group of people, even if it was...

Sami Sukupchak and her Passport Immersion team are currently in Thailand. They're discovering a world filled with brokenness and pain, but they're also experiencing God's power in ways they never could have imagined back home. Sami shares one of those moments here. It’s one of those “if this is the only thing I ever do with my life, it’d be worth it” moments.   We are out on Bangla Road when I am overcome by the need McDonalds. To be honest, I hate McDonalds. But I need to go there. When we arrive our friend Happy is sitting outside on the steps....

10 Truths for New Year’s from Thailand

Ryan Basden and the Passport Immersion squad rang in the New Year last night in Bangkok, Thailand. They danced in the streets, worshipped God, and sent lanterns floating into the night sky. And Ryan realized for the first time that New Year’s resolutions don’t change his identity – God has already decided who he is. New Year’s resolutions: claims we all make, whether we keep them for a day, a week, a year, or the rest of our lives.  How strange to think that by simply choosing something better for ourselves and speaking about it in groups of friends and...
