World Racer Launching from Catalyst Conference: Be Present

Yesterday, Brandon Boyd, of the October 2011 World Race, flew from LAX to ATL. From the airport, he headed straight to this year’s Catalyst Conference where he spent two hours meeting and greeting folks (did any of you get to meet him?).
This morning, Brandon takes the stage at Gwinnett Arena before the thousands of future leaders.  He will join the rest of the squad, who begins their Race in Guatemala.

I’ll be on the stage talking about the World Race, my story of redemption, and how they have become one.
I have been straying from even thinking about speaking. I have never really spoken in front of any audience yet I am confident in my God showing up and rocking my world!
I recently said goodbye to my family and started my lifelong journey, beginning with 11 countries in 11 months. I’m not gonna lie, it’s still a little surreal.
Everything seems to be happening so fast and all I can do is clutch onto my Jesus, the Rock of my Salvation, as the waves try to fling me from the ride of a lifetime.
The theme for Catalyst is “Be Present” — a very fitting theme for me and my life.
So many new and wild things are happening; so much change and unfamiliar ground. I know that if I don’t continually remain present in Christ, the waves will overwhelm me!
O LORD God of hosts, who is a strong LORD like unto thee? or to thy faithfulness round about thee? Thou rulest the raging of the sea: when the waves thereof arise, thou stillest them.
Psalms 89:8-9 (KJV)
Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.
Psalms 27:14 (KJV)
Waiting on the Lord is a huge part of “being present” as well. Life has been moving by so quickly! Because of this, the second it slows down, I can feel a need to do something else rather than be thankful for the time the Lord has given me.
Papa’s timing is impeccable. He is never late nor early. I feel like a lot of the time, He just wants me to rest in His presence as I wait to be aligned with His timing and full blessing.
