Kids’ Perspectives on Family Mission Trip

Last week over 70 people arrived to the Ranch in Dandridge Tennessee for an Adventures Encounter Family mission trip. The ages on this family trip ranged from 7-years-old to 70-years young. At the end of the trip they asked the kids what God had taught them. Here are their responses.

I had a bad attitude in the morning and then we went to Lunch and I got a fortune cookie that said you will find the solution in the most unexpected place and I thought it might be my attitude when we got back to work I was working a lot more and my attitude changed.

-Malachi, 7

Today our group went to lunch at little Dutch Resturant. Our waitress was named Hannah. We asked if there was anything we could pray for her and she replied, “a positive life,” because she had a rough day yesterday. May God be with her.

God helped me get the energy for work. He gave me the strength to lift the wood. He gave me the ability to pull hard. He helped me realize that misson trips are not about the people that need help, it’s about serving the Lord. Thank you God for sending me to Tennessee.

-Dominick, 7

And a note from the Children’s Pastor:
I love the conversations that have been happening as team members are speaking truth into each others’ lives. I’ve seen people move from a place of uncertainty to a place of recognizing who they are in Jesus.

-Shawn, Children’s Pastor
